CDI Contractors, LLC announced Monday (Sept. 22) a series of leadership changes that included Mike Preston, former Arkansas Secretary of Commerce, being named CEO of the construction company owned by Little Rock-based Dillard’s.

Mark Beach, current president and CEO of CDI, will retire in December 2025 following 16 years with the company. Beach previously was the vice president and chief operating officer during his career at CDI.

Preston is the former Arkansas Secretary of Commerce and former executive director of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.

The company also promoted Jonathan Semans to president. Semans has worked for CDI for 15 years, most recently as executive vice president and chief operating officer. As president, Semans will lead CDI’s project delivery resources including pre-construction services and will scale CDI’s delivery capacity through improved efficiencies, talent recruitment, and career development at CDI.

Matt Bodishbaugh, a 21-year veteran of CDI, was promoted to chief operating officer. Bodishbaugh most recently was executive vice president. As chief operating officer, he will oversee CDI’s internal business processes.

“We believe we have assembled a great leadership team at CDI with Mike, Jonathan and Matt. Mike Preston is well known across the state as a leader in economic development and in bringing great projects to life. This team is well positioned to bring great projects to life at CDI. We are excited about this new chapter as we wish Mark Beach the best while thanking him for 16 years of great service,” said Dillard’s President Alex Dillard.

Beach will serve as CEO emeritus for the balance of 2025, assisting in the leadership transition.

Founded in 1987, CDI Contractors, LLC, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dillard’s, Inc.
