For more than a decade, my everyday uniform has almost always included pieces from the French brand Sézane[1] (like, their chore coat[2], comfy jeans[3] and trusty sneakers[4]). So, this weekend I was excited to visit their new store[5] in Williamsburg, Brooklyn…
As we walked in, we were greeted with croissants and lemonade.
The bright space was filled with a wall of colorful knits[6]…
…beautiful browns[7] for fall…
…and cool patent boots[8].
The Sézane staff was wonderful, helping everyone find sizes and playing around with styling. Many of them are French, and I loved hearing the different regional accents.
I tried on the softest hoodie sweater[9] with ’70s trousers[10] and double-strap heels[11]…
…and how gorgeous is their bucket bag[12] in the chocolate croc print?
Suddenly, a sweet scent came wafting into the store, and I realized that Sézane was making crêpes outside for passersby. You could choose either Nutella or sugar and lemon. (Which would you pick? I went with the latter.)
Next, I tried on their iconic trench[13] — which comes in 12 colors[14], including gingham[15] — over a Peter Pan collar shirt[16] and wide-leg jeans[17].
Finally, we said goodbye to their lovely team — how beautiful is that plaid coat with a removable scarf[18]?! — and promised we’d be back soon.
