Vivo added another device to its Y50 lineup today with the launch of the Y50i, following the debut of the Y50 and Y50m in July. The new phone joins the family with modest specs and a curious downgrade in charging speeds.

The Y50i features a 6.74-inch flat LCD with a 720×1600 resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 180Hz touch sampling rate. Peak brightness hits 1,000 nits, which should be enough for outdoor use. The phone runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of eMMC 5.1 storage.

For cameras, Vivo[1] kept things simple. The device carries a 13MP rear shooter and a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Power comes from a large 6,000 mAh battery, although charging support has been cut back to just 15W. That choice stands out because both the Y50 and Y50m support 44W charging, making the Y50i’s slower speed its only real differentiator.

Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint reader integrated into the power button, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and Android 15 with Vivo’s Origin OS 5 layered on top. The phone measures 167.3 x 76.95 x 8.19 mm, weighs 204 grams, and ships in Black, Azure, and Platinum finishes.

In China, the Y50i is priced at CNY 1,499, which converts to roughly $210. Vivo has not confirmed whether the device will be released outside its home market, and given the small differences from the existing Y50 models, international availability remains uncertain.
