The Woofy app[1], currently in development to support animal rescue, will officially launch within the next few weeks. After over 6 months of development and 2 years of planning, the app aims to assist anyone who wants to save an animal in need, whether it be ordinary citizens, rescuers, veterinarians, or animal welfare organizations.

Here are the details.

App Features

Woofy app, founded by animal welfare activist Yair Salman and app developer Talha Chaudry, will provide detailed guides for rescuers to navigate various animal rescue situations. These guides cover topics such as safe handling, transportation, and rehabilitation for animals in distress. The guides are designed to support both experienced and novice rescuers, ensuring that animals receive the proper care.

Rescuers and reporters will be able to create separate profiles. Rescuers can track their efforts, report cases, and manage updates, while reporters can contribute by sharing pictures and locations of animals in need.

Woofy offers a system for tracking abused and rescued animals in separate categories. Rescuers can log details about each animal’s condition, care received, and ongoing status. This ensures that animals are properly monitored throughout the rescue process, promoting accountability and transparency.

The app features two separate dashboards. One tracks the status of rescued animals, and the other helps manage reports and updates. Both dashboards are updated in real-time, allowing users to stay informed about the latest rescue operations and the condition of animals in need.

Woofy will be collaborating with local veterinary clinics, providing rescuers with a list of nearby facilities that are part of the app’s network. This ensures that rescued animals are quickly directed to medical professionals for care, improving the efficiency of the rescue process.

The app includes a location-based feature that enables rescuers to pinpoint specific locations on a map, such as where an animal was rescued or where a clinic is located.

While there is no fixed launch date just yet, Yair Salman has confirmed to ProPakistani that Woofy should be ready to go “within a few weeks” on both the Google[2] Play Store and the Apple[3] App Store.
