
The Punjab government has announced the launch of an electric bus service in Wazirabad on September 17, 2025, marking the city’s first step into eco-friendly public transport.
This initiative follows the recent inauguration of the Green Electric Bus Service in Mianwali, as part of CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s broader plan to modernize transport across Punjab.
According to officials, 15 buses will run on major city routes in the first phase, providing affordable, environment-friendly travel. Authorities estimate nearly 100,000 commuters daily will benefit, easing congestion and cutting pollution.
