As Huawei prepares for its “Ride the Wind” launch event in Paris on September 19, new leaks provide a detailed look at the company’s upcoming flagship wearables. The lineup is expected to include the Watch Ultimate 2, along with the mid-range Watch GT 6 and GT 6 Pro models.
Leaks from sources like WinFuture and certifications spotted in multiple regions, including the UAE and Malaysia, indicate a significant push in Huawei’s smartwatch strategy.
Watch Ultimate 2: Building on a Premium Legacy
Following the 2023 Watch Ultimate, the second-generation model is set to maintain its predecessor’s circular design and high-end build.
- Design: Renders show a rugged, 48.5mm case, similar to the original, but with a redesigned bezel featuring “Huawei Watch Ultimate” branding. It is pictured in both black and a striking dual-tone blue finish.
- Battery: The new model reportedly includes a silicon-carbon battery that could offer a 37% increase in energy density, boosting overall capacity by 65% over the previous 530mAh cell. This could extend the already impressive battery life to over three weeks on a single charge.
- Features: Like its forebear, the Ultimate 2 is expected to support advanced health and outdoor tracking. Certifications suggest it will maintain high durability and may include new hardware with ultra-wideband (UWB) and two-way Beidou satellite SMS support.
- Price: Sources suggest a premium price tag, possibly around €899 (USD $1062), signaling Huawei’s continued focus on the high-end smartwatch market.
Watch GT 6 Series: Innovations for Fitness Enthusiasts
The leaks also offer fresh details on the Watch GT 6 and GT 6 Pro, indicating a blend of style, power, and advanced fitness tracking.
- GT 6 Models: The standard GT 6 will come in 41mm and 46mm sizes. The 41mm features a 1.32-inch OLED screen, while the 46mm offers a larger 1.47-inch display. Both will have upgraded battery life and 64GB of storage.
- GT 6 Pro Exclusive: The 46mm Pro variant will share the same display and battery capacity as the larger standard model, but with an exclusive feature: a world-first integrated cycling power meter.
This will allow users to measure their functional threshold power (FTP) and pair with external meters for enhanced cycling analysis.
- Colors: The Pro version is rumored to be available in premium colorways, including Titanium Silver, Dazzling Gold, and Shimmery Black.
- Health and Battery: All GT 6 models will feature comprehensive health tracking, including heart rate, ECG, blood oxygen (SpO2), and temperature monitoring. Battery life is expected to be up to 14 days for normal use or 21 days in power-saving mode for the larger models.
The current Huawei Watch Ultimate (2023 model) includes a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display, water resistance up to 100 meters (10 ATM), and a rugged build using materials like liquid metal zirconium alloy, ceramic bezels, sapphire glass, and premium straps. It supports several sensors, including heart rate, temperature, depth, and ambient light sensors.
