The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced the successful deployment of a new registry version on its IRIS portal, aimed at improving efficiency and user experience. According to an FBR spokesperson, the latest update covers the Recovery module and the Registry of Profile, introducing smoother workflows for both individuals and organizations.
The spokesperson highlighted that the upgraded system offers better integration with user profiles, greater efficiency in recovery processes, and simplified registration and profile management. These improvements are part of FBR’s ongoing efforts to modernize digital tax administration and make it more responsive to taxpayer needs.
This announcement comes just five days after the Lahore Tax Bar Association (LTBA) formally wrote to FBR Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial, highlighting critical technical and procedural issues with the IRIS portal. The association noted that the glitches were causing significant delays and frustration for taxpayers and tax practitioners filing income tax returns for the tax year 2025.
