Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to temporarily halt PIA flights to Canada this month as part of scheduled maintenance for its long-range Boeing 777 aircraft.

Airline officials confirmed that the suspension was necessary to carry out mandatory inspections of Boeing 777 long-range planes used for transatlantic travel. These aircraft, which can fly nonstop for up to 17 hours, are central to operating PIA flights to Canada.

Both jets will undergo a three-week technical inspection and replacement of essential parts, a process required every 10 years. The airline scheduled the maintenance now to ensure the aircraft are fully ready before the expected surge in passenger traffic next month.

A PIA spokesperson apologized for the inconvenience caused to travelers but stressed that passenger safety and the complete fitness of aircraft remain the airline’s highest priorities.
