The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has unveiled plans to create model examination centres designed with modern facilities to enhance the examination system for students.

FBISE Chairman Dr Ikram Ali Malik said on Friday that each centre will feature a library along with computer and science laboratories, allowing students to benefit from improved facilities for both theoretical and practical examinations. He noted that the controlled model examination centres will ensure a more transparent and organized process.

Dr Malik shared that land has already been allocated for the initiative, although final approval for the project is still pending.

To ease financial pressure on families, the FBISE chief revealed that a committee has been formed to devise a system for waiving examination fees for students from low-income backgrounds.

He further confirmed that free education will be provided to students already enrolled in the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) or other welfare schemes, with no charges for those deemed eligible.
