After a productive early access period–and a few “final” patches[1]–Hades 2 is ready for its full release. During the September Nintendo Direct[2], Nintendo announced that Hades 2 will launch digitally for Switch 2 and the original Switch on September 25. It will be a timed-exclusive on console for Switch, but is also launching that day for Steam and the Epic Games Store.

A physical version of Hades 2 for Switch 2 will arrive on November 20.

Hades 2 has spent just over a year in early access, adding a substantial amount of content and fine-tuning the gameplay across a number of major updates since May 2024. A new v1.0 launch trailer for Hades 2 was released during the Nintendo Direct–check it out below.

While the early-access launch offered a feature-rich experience for players, the updates and several patches have added an incredible amount of great content, like new regions to explore, more weapons to master, and adorable familiars to recruit[3].

The game will also launch on Xbox and PlayStation, but it’ll be coming to the Switch 2 first[4] as a timed console exclusive. For Switch 2, in TV mode Hades 2 will run at 1080p at 120fps. In handheld mode, it’ll support 1080p at 60fps.
