Still, it’s ideal if you want something simple and affordable for browsing the web, watching YouTube[3] videos, reading lectures on Canvas, and performing other light tasks – and the battery life of up to 12 hours is a nice touch, too.

Also known as the HP Chromebook 15, this laptop is the standard version of our best Chromebook for students[4]. This particular model runs on the Intel Processor N200 and 8GB of RAM, so it isn’t as strong as its Plus counterpart[5] but should be a good fit for schoolwork.
Just note that it only comes with 64GB eMMC for storage, so you can’t use it for working with large files like high-resolution photos and videos, or playing games.
