
Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan announced that more than 50 million young Pakistanis engage with esports and related activities and that the government will establish the country’s first Esports Federation and a Game Development Center.
He spoke while presenting the annual performance report of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme and said the move is part of a wider youth empowerment plan covering education sports technology and employment. The Youth Programme follows a four pillar policy of engagement employment environment and education and offers scholarships and the National Innovation Awards.
Rana Mashhood said the government will train 2 million young people in disaster risk management over three years and will expand technical training in hospitality health and information technology. He added that a modern software platform is being developed to prepare youth for market needs.
The Digital Youth Hub now counts 600,000 registered users and hosts 100,000 job opportunities from more than 3,000 organisations. Esports Pakistan will be linked to the hub so trained players and developers can access internships jobs and international tournaments. The Talent Hunt Sports covered 23 games and the plan includes sports academies and sports technology labs to support athletes and game creators.
