Google is rolling out a Purchases tab in Gmail to help users track packages more easily. The new tab collects purchase emails in one place so users can find order details and shipping updates without searching the inbox. The Gmail Packages view will include past orders and current shipments for quick access.
Gmail will still surface items due to arrive within 24 hours at the top of the inbox. The new tab gives a fuller picture of purchase activity over time. Users will be able to see tracking numbers order summaries and delivery dates in a single view. The change builds on Gmail package tracking features that first launched in two thousand twenty two.
Google is also updating the Promotions category so users can sort by most relevant offers. The update will highlight deals from brands that a user cares about and will nudge users about timely promotions ahead of busy shopping days. The company says this will be useful during peak holiday shopping.
The Purchases tab will appear on mobile and web for personal Google accounts. The feature will roll out in phases and will become available to users around the world.
