Apple updated its smartwatch portfolio with the unveiling of the Watch Series 11, Watch SE 3, and Watch Ultra 3 during its September 9, 2025, launch event[1].
All three models now support 5G cellular connectivity, marking the first time Apple has introduced the feature to its wearables. The Series 11 and Ultra 3 also bring new health-focused tools, including hypertension awareness.
Apple Watch Series 11: Thinner, Tougher, and Smarter
The Watch Series 11 takes the spotlight as Apple’s thinnest smartwatch yet, while also improving durability. It features Ion-X glass reinforced with a ceramic coating that Apple claims is twice as tough as the Series 10. The watch is available in 42 mm and 46 mm sizes with aluminum or titanium casings.
On the health side, hypertension awareness is designed to notify users if the device detects irregular blood pressure activity. The feature is awaiting FDA clearance, but will roll out across 150 countries once approved.
A new Sleep Score function provides a nightly rating out of 100 by analyzing sleep duration, consistency, interruptions, and time spent in various sleep stages. Apple is also continuing 24/7 heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring, now backed by stronger battery life that delivers up to 24 hours of use.
The aluminum versions of Series 11 come in Jet Black, Silver, Rose Gold, and Space Gray, while the titanium options include Natural Titanium, Gold, and Slate. Pricing starts at $399 for the 42 mm aluminum model and $429 for the 46 mm, with cellular models priced $100 higher.
Pre-orders are live in key markets, including the US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, India, Japan, Australia, and the UAE, with shipments beginning September 19.
Watch SE 3 and Watch Ultra 3: Smarter Features and Bigger Battery
The Watch SE 3 brings a number of upgrades, such as an always-on display, last year’s Apple S10 chip, and optional 5G connectivity. It comes in 40 mm and 44 mm sizes, supporting gesture controls like double-tap and wrist flick. Fast charging has been doubled compared to the previous SE, with Apple[2] promising 8 hours of use from just a 15-minute top-up.
The SE 3 also supports the new Sleep Score feature, alongside continuous heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring. Available in Starlight and Midnight, the SE 3 starts at $249 in the US and ships from September 19.
At the high end, the Watch Ultra 3 introduces a brighter LTPO 3.0 OLED display with slimmer bezels, 5G support, and enhanced satellite connectivity for Emergency SOS, messaging, and location sharing via Find My.
Like the Series 11, it includes the hypertension notification and sleep score features. The Ultra 3 sets a new record for Apple Watch endurance with a 42-hour battery life.
The Ultra 3 is offered in Black and Natural Titanium, starting at $799, with pre-orders available now and shipping on September 19.
