Mina The Hollower Gets Console Release Date, PS4 Version Might Be Cancelled?

Mina the Hollower is a gorgeous game designed to evoke the 8-bit days of the Game Boy Colour, and its from Yacht Club Games, the crew that brought us Shovel Knight. The game was announced years ago, but now we’re drawing closer to release and the developers have shared that the console version will release alongside the PC version on October 31st.

“Descend into a frightful world of action-adventure in Mina the Hollower. Take control of Mina, a renowned Hollower hurtled into a desperate mission to rescue a cursed island. Burrow beneath hazards and monsters, whip foes into oblivion, and gear up with an arsenal of sidearms and trinkets. However, there is some confusion because the previously announced PS4 versions seems to be MIA, despite the game coming out on PC, Xbox Series S/X^[1], Switch^[2] and Switch 2^[3].

Push Square has specifically stated the PS4 version as cancelled,^[4] but I can’t find any official word. I’ve reached out to Yacht Club Games for some official word.

Push Square might be right in their assessment, though, because the PS4 version does seem to have vanished. The new trailer’s description mentions PS5 only, and that’s despite being posted on the official PlayStation channel.

It would be weird to cancel the PS4 version, especially at this point. There are still plenty of people playing on the PS4, and it is still classed as launching on Xbox Series S and the original Switch. More confusingly. outlets still have it listed for PS4 to buy. The PS4 store also seems to still have a PS4 version, too.^[5]

If I hear anything back from Yacht Club, I’ll update accordingly.
