
Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz has won the 2025 US Open, beating Italy’s Jannik Sinner in four sets at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.
Alcaraz showed fantastic serving skills, hitting 10 aces, winning 83% of his first serve points, and finishing with 41 winners. His ball striking and shot selection were top class throughout the match.
Alcaraz’s Reaction: ‘This is super special’
Speaking after the match, Alcaraz said:
“I want to start by congratulating Jannik. It’s amazing what you’ve done this season. I see you more than my family!
It’s great to share these moments with you and to see how hard you work.

This title is super special. I’ve loved spending the last three weeks here. I really feel at home.”
At just 22 years old, Alcaraz now has six Grand Slam titles. He also returns to world number one, taking the spot from Sinner.
Sinner’s Speech: ‘I tried my best’
Jannik Sinner accepted defeat with grace, saying:
“Congrats to Carlos and your whole team. You played better today.
To my team — thank you for standing by me. It’s been an amazing season. I gave everything I had today.
Thank you to everyone who makes this tournament so special — the staff, the crowd, and the ball kids.
I can’t wait to come back next year. You’ve been amazing.”
A Champion’s Celebration
After the win, Alcaraz celebrated with his usual golf-swing gesture, then ran up to hug his family and team in the stands.
