Huawei has unveiled an updated model for its tri-fold smartphone, the Mate XTs, featuring incremental upgrades over last year. While the overall design remains unchanged, the new device brings internal improvements and two new color options, purple and white.
Design and Display
The Mate XTs retains its standout tri-fold architecture with a 10.2-inch LTPO OLED display offering 3K resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The screen reaches 1,800 nits of peak brightness and supports a 16:11 aspect ratio, allowing three standard apps to run side by side. Stylus support remains intact.
When folded once, the device offers a 7.9-inch screen in dual mode, while full folding reduces it to a compact 6.4-inch form. It maintains a slim profile at 3.8mm when unfolded and 12.8mm when folded, with a weight of 298 grams, making it thinner than some conventional phones despite being a tri-fold.
The Mate XTs is available in black, red, purple, and white.
Internals and Software
The Mate XTs is powered by Huawei’s new Kirin 9020 chipset, which replaces the previous Kirin 9010. According to the company, the updated processor delivers up to 36% faster performance. All variants come with 16GB RAM, and users can choose between 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of internal storage. The phone runs HarmonyOS 5.1.
Cameras
Huawei has upgraded the ultrawide camera to a 40MP sensor (13mm), joining the 50MP main lens (24mm) with variable aperture (f/1.4–f/4.0) and a 12MP periscope lens (125mm). This triple-lens system builds on the previous model while enhancing ultrawide photography capabilities.
Battery and Pricing
The Mate XTs is equipped with a 5,600 mAh battery, supporting 66W wired, 50W wireless, and 7.5W reverse wireless charging, which is identical to the previous model.
Pricing starts at $2,520 for the 256GB model, $2,800 for the 512GB, and $3,080 for the 1TB variant. Huawei has not confirmed details about a global release.
