Opeyemi Tinubu has won a Silver medal for Team Akwa Ibom in the Female Pistol Shooting event at the 9th National Youth Games in Asaba.
Tinubu recorded 498 points to finish second behind Eko Miracle of Bayelsa State, who claimed Gold with 507 points. Osuntoki Haliyah of Kwara State took Bronze after scoring 488 points.
She is one of four shooters representing Team Akwa Ibom at the Games, which includes two male and two female athletes.
With Tinubu’s achievement, Team Akwa Ibom’s medal tally at the 9th National Youth Games has risen to twelve after three days of competition.
The state’s athletes will continue their hunt for more medals in volleyball, cricket, football, taekwondo, boxing, shooting, para-powerlifting, ayo, golf and darts as the Games progress.
The 9th National Youth Games[1], which began on August 29, will run until September 7, 2025, in Asaba, Delta State.
