Nigerian winger Moses Simon delivered a standout performance as Paris FC secured their first Ligue 1 win of the season with a 3-2 victory over Metz on Sunday.

Paris FC, newly promoted to the French top flight, came into the game under pressure after losing their opening two matches. The visitors, Metz, also searching for their first points, struck first in the 22nd minute from a set piece, quietening the home fans.

The hosts levelled before the break from the penalty spot to give themselves hope. Early in the second half, Ilan Kebbal put Paris ahead, finishing off a fine cross from Simon. Metz hit back almost immediately to make it 2-2.

Simon, who joined from FC Nantes this summer, restored Paris FC’s lead in the 67th minute with a calm finish. This time, Metz could not respond.

The win lifted Paris FC off the bottom of the table and gave them their first top-flight victory since promotion.

For Simon, it was another impressive display. The 30-year-old has now been involved in three goals in his first three games for the club. His form is a timely boost for the Super Eagles ahead of next week’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
