Ademola Lookman scored on his return from injury, but it was not enough to save Atalanta as they were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League by Club Brugge.

Atalanta have turned down another offer for Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman as the summer transfer window nears its close.

With less than 24 hours before the window shuts at 2pm on Monday, 1st September, Bayern Munich submitted a proposal to sign Lookman on loan with an option to buy. Reports say the German champions were ready to pay a substantial fee, but Atalanta immediately rejected the bid.

This is not the first time the Italian club has stood firm. Earlier in the summer, Atalanta rejected two separate offers from Inter Milan worth €40 million and €45 million. The Europa League champions are believed to be holding out for a fee closer to €50 million if they are to part ways with the Nigerian international.

Lookman and his representatives are still pushing for a move before the deadline, with the 27-year-old keen to take the next step in his career. However, Atalanta remain unwilling to sell unless their conditions are met.

It is now uncertain whether Bayern Munich will return with an improved offer before the window closes.
