Bayelsa Queens kicked off their NWFL Super Six campaign with a 1–0 win over Rivers Angels on Saturday at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.

Bayelsa Queens started their WAFU B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifying campaign in style with a 4-1 win over Sampson Nelly on Saturday evening.

The Nigerian champions were dominant from the first whistle, keeping possession and creating several chances. Their efforts paid off when Janet Akeromowei and Shakirat Moshood gave them the lead midway through the first half.

Sampson Nelly briefly fought back, equalising through Kalu Favour, but Bayelsa Queens quickly restored their advantage before the break.

In the second half, the Prosperity Girls increased the pressure. Janet scored again, while Alaba added another to secure a convincing victory and send a warning to their rivals in the regional qualifiers.

The win puts Bayelsa Queens at the top of their group with nine points as they continue their push for a place in this year’s CAF Women’s Champions League finals.
