He acknowledged that Gunn is indeed a fan of his, and he holds the filmmaker in equally high regard. While confirming that conversations about Batman have taken place, Ritchson firmly believes the role is not in his future. However, he hinted at an exciting possibility, stating, “I do think there is something in my future with DC,” suggesting that his path with the studio is far from closed, as per Variety.

Alan Ritchson also spoke about stepping in as a producer on Motor City in the same interview, explaining how he joined the project from the start with a clear vision. He described action as his creative language, insisting he understands fight design and choreography in ways others often overlook. For him, Reacher became a training ground, sharpening instincts that now fuel a unique, hyperrealistic style of cinematic violence he believes audiences will soon experience on a much larger scale. However, as it is clear Ritchson will not appear in the upcoming Batman film, James Gunn recently turned the spotlight onto Chris Pratt’s future in the DCU.

In a recent interview with EscorpionGolden discussing Peacemaker Season 2, James Gunn addressed questions about Chris Pratt’s place in the DC Universe. Gunn firmly dismissed the possibility of Pratt portraying Batman, stating, “As Batman? No.” However, he left the door open for another role, adding, “As something else? Yes.” The two previously collaborated on all three Guardians of the Galaxy films, where Pratt famously stars as Star-Lord. Gunn’s comments clarify that while the Dark Knight is off-limits, exciting opportunities remain within the DCU for Pratt.

James Gunn revealed that Chris Pratt is very interested in joining the DC Universe and expressed that he would be thrilled to have Pratt take on a role, although he still needs to decide which character would be the best fit. Gunn frequently works with past collaborators, as demonstrated by Guardians of the Galaxy stars appearing in Superman and his brother Sean Gunn portraying Max Lord in Peacemaker Season 2.
