From Personal to Public Mission
Emergencies in Pakistan often strike without warning, and for many citizens the lack of a unified response system has long been a painful reality. From medical crises to public safety incidents, people are often left scrambling to find the right helpline, a challenge made worse by the fact that Pakistan has historically had more than 735 different emergency numbers.
That is where Mohafiz comes in. Founded in 2015, the platform was born out of tragedy but built with a vision to give people a single, trusted way to access help, anytime and anywhere. In a recent episode of “How Does It Work”, a podcast by ProPakistani, founder Fahad Mahmood Khan shared the story behind Mohafiz, its journey so far, and where it is headed.

For Mr Khan, the idea was deeply personal. His son went to an army-operated school and after a tragic event, he moved him to a private school for safety. But the thought of children left behind unsettled him. “What about the children who stayed back? What is this selfishness that I could protect my son but others could not?” he recalled. That was when he knew something had to be built for emergencies.
Building Dignity Into Emergency Response
From the start, Mohafiz was built to represent dignity, reliability, and trust. It was not only about connecting victims to responders but about ensuring someone always answered the call. Over time, law enforcement agencies recognized its value, helping Mohafiz manage over 55,000 incidents.
The platform also caught the attention of companies. SWVL selected Mohafiz as its security and crisis management partner, followed by BusCaro, Daraz, Bazaar, Careem, PostEx, ezBike, Rider, and Zaraye. Mohafiz Secure, its corporate arm, now goes beyond emergencies to include anti-fraud and anti-illicit trade solutions aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s business environment.
Expanding Into Family and Overseas Support
As Mohafiz grew, many of its trusted clients moved abroad and raised a new concern: who would care for their families and properties in Pakistan? This demand led to the creation of Mohsyn, a full-spectrum concierge service powered by the same crisis-response backbone as Mohafiz.
Mohsyn is designed for overseas Pakistanis who want ongoing support for their parents, elders, and properties back home. It provides groceries, medicines, repairs, appointments, companionship visits, emergency medical response, transport, and end-to-end help with government paperwork such as NADRA attestations. Families are supported through a dedicated WhatsApp group that works as a 24/7 lifeline, keeping everyone connected and reassured.
Mohsyn offers a Complete Care Plan starting at $99.99 per month or $999.99 annually, covering daily check-ins, vetted caregivers, medical coordination, errands, logistics, and real-time updates.
Clients frequently describe it as peace of mind from abroad—one testimonial shared how urgent asthma medicine was delivered within minutes to a family in Nathia Gali.
Preparing the Next Generation
Alongside these services, Mohafiz Junior focuses on schools and families in Pakistan. Teachers receive certified training to handle emergencies, while students take part in workshops on first aid, leadership, mental health, and sustainability. More than 2,200 people have been trained, and MJ Magazine engages students beyond the classroom.
Reach, Scale, and Numbers
Today, Mohafiz and Mohsyn together form a safety and care ecosystem. Mohafiz operates nationwide with a 24/7 operations room coordinating across 361 cities, maintains a field presence in five major cities, and has expanded internationally to Egypt, Kenya, and Argentina. Self-reported figures show over 15,000 lives saved, more than 4,500 women protected, and a volunteer network of 17,000 built across the country.
A Harsh Truth About Recognition
During the podcast, Mr Khan reflected on entrepreneurship in Pakistan. “There are so many hardworking people here who are bringing real convenience to people’s lives. If they had done the same thing abroad, they would have been rewarded and celebrated. But here, they often go unnoticed.”
For Mohafiz and Mohsyn, recognition comes from those who matter most—the people and businesses they serve. Schools, families, and corporates commend them for their reliability and commitment. “Our brand is celebrated by the people we work for,” Khan emphasized.
Looking Forward
From its origins as a one-button emergency app to its evolution into a global concierge and safety ecosystem, Mohafiz and Mohsyn have become much more than services. Whether coordinating blood donations, responding to crises, managing properties, caring for parents, or helping students prepare for the future, they continue to live up to their mission: to be protectors, helpers, and trusted partners in times of need.
In a country where uncertainty is part of everyday life, they show that dignity, compassion, and quick action can save lives and bring peace of mind, at home and abroad.
