Lillie Pearl Gross, age 102, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. She was born on February 28, 1923, in Kinta, Oklahoma, to Emet and Lathaleon Qualls.
Lillie was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her heart was happiest outdoors, tending to her garden, and she cherished every opportunity for adventure and travel. She was happiest when she was holding a baby in her lap. Lillie was a faithful Christian who deeply loved the Lord and lived her life as a testament to her faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Willie Fay Gross; her son, Jimmy Gross; and siblings, Clifton Qualls, William Qualls, Lila Grimmett, and Flora Jensen.
Left to honor her legacy are her daughter, Marilyn Gross; her son, Samuel Gross and wife Kathy; and her grandchildren: Kristin Francis, Brenda Vass, Sherri Frachiseur, Sally Smith, Caleb Elmore, Olivia Bradley, and Rebecca Gross. She is also survived by 25 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home, 201 North 12th Street, Fort Smith, AR 72901. Funeral services will take place on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Van Buren First Assembly of God, 1014 Fayetteville Rd, Van Buren, AR 72956. Following the service, Lillie will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 4211 State Line Rd, Fort Smith, AR 72901.
Lillie’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. She was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
