Manchester United might be willing to sell their captain Bruno Fernandes if they receive an offer of more than £100 million, according to reports.
Earlier this summer, Fernandes turned down a huge move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal, who were offering him £700,000 a week — a deal worth around £200 million over three years.
Now, another Saudi club, Al-Ittihad, has shown interest in the Portuguese midfielder. They’ve reportedly had positive talks with his team, and according to the Daily Mail, a big enough bid could convince United to sell.
Although Fernandes isn’t planning to leave this summer — especially with the 2026 World Cup in sight — things might change if Al-Ittihad offer him more money than Al-Hilal did.
The Saudi Pro League transfer window remains open until 10th September, and Al-Ittihad are trying to make space in their squad, with Fabinho, formerly of Liverpool, possibly set to leave.
Fernandes has previously said he would leave Old Trafford if the club wanted him to go. Speaking to Sky Sports earlier this month, he explained why he rejected Al-Hilal’s offer:
“I haven’t fulfilled my dreams here yet. I think I can still give something to the club. I’ll stay until the club decides it’s time for me to go.”
He also admitted United might find it hard to turn down a big-money deal:
“It was a big amount of money. The club probably hasn’t received that kind of offer since Cristiano [Ronaldo] left.”
