
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) announced that 98% of telecom sites in Karachi, which were affected by recent heavy rains, have been restored within 72 hours.
According to PTA, a total of 2,764 sites were impacted by the downpour, disrupting connectivity for thousands of residents. Out of these, 2,707 sites have already been restored, while work is underway to bring the remaining 57 sites back online soon.
Officials highlighted that the rapid recovery shows a strong commitment to ensuring uninterrupted communication services, even under extreme weather conditions. PTA teams worked closely with telecom operators and local administrations to expedite restoration efforts, providing constant support on the ground.
The authority further confirmed that it is closely monitoring the evolving situation caused by the rains and urban flooding, assuring the public that full connectivity will be restored shortly.
