A shocking video has captured the moment a three-year-old girl walked into a hospital with what appears to be a knife embedded in her skull.

The shocking moment was captured on camera, with footage showing the little girl nonchalantly holding her mother’s hand as they strolled into the Dongchuan People’s Hospital in Dongchuan, China, all while a knife appeared to be embedded in her head, just above her right ear. The video, recorded outside the building, also shows the moment the pair are met by hospital employees.

People can be seen staring intently at the two as the footage shows the seemingly calm child moving their head around, unfazed by the protruding object.

The mother, who has been identified locally as Hu, told local media the knife was accidentally lodged in her child’s head as she changed bedsheets.

Local news outlets have also reported that the mum said the little girl was throwing a “tantrum” seconds before the knife became lodged in her head.

It’s reported that Hu attempted to pull the knife out of her child immediately after but eventually decided to take her directly to the hospital instead of calling an ambulance.

During their visit to the hospital, it’s believed that the little girl underwent a craniotomy procedure, conducted by a neurosurgeon, where they safely removed the blade.

The toddler is in a stable condition following the shocking event, as reported by local news. A doctor explained to China Business View that it was a miracle survival, put down to the softness of her skull.

The doctor commented: “If the girl’s mother had recklessly pulled the knife out, the risk would have been enormous. The correct action was to seek immediate professional medical help.”
