US Open 2025: The Action Heats Up in New YorkArthur Ashe Stadium: US Open 2025

It’s that time of the year again New York is bustling, the US Open is in full swing. The tournament kicked off on Sunday, August 24, and will run until September 7, and it will be the final Grand Slam of the tennis season.

 Early Highlights

Only two days in and we’ve already had drama:

  • Novak Djokovic looked comfortable in his opener, cruising past young American Learner Tien. Even at 38, the man just knows how to turn it on at Slams.
  • Ben Shelton and Taylor Fritz carried the American flag proudly, both winning in style to loud home support.
  • The first real shockwave came when Daniil Medvedev, a former US Open champion, was sent packing in five sets by France’s Benjamin Bonzi.
  • On the women’s side, Aryna Sabalenka wasted no time reminding everyone she’s World No. 1, blasting her way into Round 2.
  • Emma Raducanu looked like her 2021 US Open self, dismantling Ena Shibahara in straight sets.
  • And perhaps the most emotional story so far Alexandra Eala from the Philippines. Just 19 years old, she scored over Clara Tauson, becoming the first Filipino ever to win a main-draw match at a Grand Slam. She was in tears after match point. You love to see it.

Venus Is Back

Not Serena this year she’s happily retired but Venus Williams is back in New York. At 45, she’s still walking out into the Arthur Ashe Stadium to a standing ovation, which says everything about her legacy. She’ll face Karolína Muchová in her opener under the bright lights of the night session. Win or lose, it’s already one of the most anticipated matches of the first week.

So far, the tournament has already delivered some great tennis and we’re only just getting started. If this is the appetizer, the main course is going to be wild. And we are here for it.
