Former Akwa United forward Edidiong Ezekiel is set to make his debut for Enyimba FC today when the People’s Elephants face newly-promoted Barau FC in their opening Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) game of the season.
Ezekiel, who joined Enyimba in the recent transfer window, will play under new coach Stanley Eguma. The striker left Akwa United this summer after two years with the Promise Keepers, where he was one of their key attacking players.
The Akwa Ibom/born forward has previously played for Cofine FC, Ibom Youth FC, Dakkada FC and Remo Stars before moving to Akwa United. He has also represented Nigeria at U23 level and featured for the Super Eagles B team.
In his farewell message to Akwa United fans on August 22, Ezekiel thanked the club and supporters for their love and backing during his time in Uyo.
