Pep Guardiola appears to have made a decision on his goalkeeper pecking order at Manchester City.
James Trafford starts Saturday’s game against Tottenham – his second Premier League start in a row – seemingly sealing his place as No 1 ahead of Ederson.
Trafford kept a clean sheet in his first start for City in a convincing 4-0 win against Wolves last week, and his efforts were clearly enough for Guardiola to favour him again.
Ederson, who has made 372 appearances for City, has been a cornerstone of Guardiola’s side for the past eight seasons.
But with less than one year remaining on the Brazilian’s contract, he has been strongly linked with a move away – and today’s decision may have marked the beginning of the end for him in Manchester.
Elsewhere, City are still reportedly weighing up a move for Paris Saint-Germain shot-stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who waved goodbye to fans last at the Parc des Princes last night.

He has won 15 trophies at the club – including a Champions League and six Premier League titles – as well as three Premier League Golden Glove awards.
