Honor has officially introduced the Magic V Flip 2 in China, its latest clamshell-style foldable smartphone. Positioned to rival the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Motorola Razr 60 Ultra, the new device brings the biggest battery size on a flip phone and more.
Design and Display
The Honor Magic V Flip 2 continues the clamshell foldable design, featuring a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED inner display with a resolution of 2868 x 1232 pixels. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate and delivers peak brightness up to 5,000 nits, ensuring strong visibility even in bright environments. On the outside, the device houses a 4.0-inch LTPO OLED cover display with a 1200 x 1092 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 3,600 nits.
In terms of build, the phone measures 6.9mm in thickness when open and around 15.5mm when folded. It weighs approximately 204 grams. The device comes with IP58 and IP59 protection ratings and has passed SGS hinge durability certification. Color options include White, Gray, Purple, and a limited edition Blue variant designed in partnership with Jimmy Choo, as shown below.
Internals and Software
The Magic V Flip 2 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and is available with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Storage configurations include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, all using UFS 4.0 technology for faster read/write speeds.
It runs Android 15 with Honor’s MagicOS 9.0.1 on top, delivering several AI-based enhancements and multitasking features. Connectivity includes support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, ultra-wideband (UWB), and dual SIM functionality (one physical SIM and one eSIM). The device also includes stereo speakers and a triple-microphone setup for improved audio and call quality.
Cameras
The Magic V Flip 2 features a dual-camera setup on the rear. The primary sensor is a 200MP unit with a 1/1.4-inch size, f/1.9 aperture, and optical image stabilization (OIS). It is paired with a 50MP ultrawide lens offering a 127-degree field of view. On the inside, the device carries a 50MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. The rear cameras can also be used for high-quality selfies via the outer display.
Battery and Pricing
The phone is equipped with a 5,500 mAh silicon-carbon battery, the largest battery currently available in any flip-style foldable phone. It supports 80W wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 7.5W reverse wireless charging. With the wired charger, the battery can reach 50% in under 20 minutes under optimal conditions.
While the Magic V Flip 2 is now available in China, Honor has not yet confirmed pricing or availability for global markets.
