Michael Sprayberry, 79, of Van Buren, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025 in Fort Smith. He was born August 5, 1946 in Texarkana but was raised in Fouke with his parents, the late Henry and Mary (Chappell) Sprayberry. Michael joined the U.S. Air Force in 1971 where he reached the rank of Sergeant. He spent 35 years working for ARKLA. He started as a pipeline welder and retired as a supervisor. During this time, he developed a passion for technology and taught himself how to program. Following retirement, he designed a flange pipeline tool that aligned the flanges. He was able to patent this technology. His true passions were computer and 3D prints where he designed and printed various useful tools. He was a Christian, and we know we will see him again someday.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Sprayberry of the home; two daughters, Christy Black and husband Radney of Texarkana, and Cally Dawn O’Neal and husband Morgan of Fort Smith; a son, Allen Clay Sprayberry of Fouke; eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
