Newly promoted Nigeria Premier Football League side, Wikki Tourists FC, have completed the signing of left back, Phillip David, from Akwa United FC.
The club announced the deal on Saturday, August 16, 2025, through its official social media page, confirming that David has signed a one-season contract with an option for an additional year.
David, an experienced defender, enjoyed a successful spell with Akwa United and will now reunite with Wikki Tourists head coach, Abdul Maikaba, under whom he previously played at the Uyo-based club.
Maikaba recently guided the Bauchi club, known as the “Giant Elephants,” back to the Nigeria Premier Football League after a strong 2024/2025 Nigeria National League campaign that secured their promotion.
David’s arrival is expected to add quality and experience to the team as they prepare for life in the top flight.
