Three quirky but popular holiday apartments alongside an equally unconventional-styled home have hit the market, offering buyers the chance to have a bit of fun while earning an income.
Each decked out in their own unique theme – and with wacky names to match – the apartments, at 6 Mckinnon Rd, Goolwa South, come fully-furnished and are to be sold under one title for a combined asking price of between $650,000 and $690,000.
The adjoining home, on a separate title, is listed for sale with a matching price guide but vendors Chrissy and Bruce Wright, who started letting the apartments out five years ago, hoped the properties would be sold as a whole.

“My motto was always, `You need to create crazy stuff so all the crazies can find you’,’’ Mrs Wright said.
“The decor is a bit kooky. I’ve got a Doris Day (style) nightie that people can wear and can take a photo to show their partners.
“I’ve got everything from the 70s, including the Brut and 4711 (cologne) in the bathroom and the 70s dollies that had (stored) the toilet paper.
“I’ve given everything crazy names and themes and I just thought, `Let’s throw this open (to holiday-makers)’ and it worked.’’
Mrs Wright said a two-bedroom ground floor apartment, Que Sera Sera, provided “the full 70s experience’’, with a retro lounge and funky cutlery wall art.
The Shangri La, also downstairs and with Oriental-influenced styling, offered a single bedroom ”romantic getaway’’, with an ensuite bathroom that has a bathtub.
Upstairs, Ooh La La, is a charming French-inspired two-bedroom apartment, with crystal glassware and a plush velvet lounge.
While furnishings are not included in the sale of the main house, dubbed Cha Cha Cha, it currently indulges Mrs Wright’s passion for mid-century styling.

Mrs Wright said holiday-makers loved the experience offered, with many repeat bookings.
She said the accommodation venture had provided an income of about $50,000 a year, although the Wrights had deliberately operated with only a 40 per cent occupancy rate, allowing new buyers to increase the business scale if desired.
Future bookings had been cancelled in case the purchaser did not wish to continue with short-term rentals – much to the disappointment of guests.
“I have everybody’s phone number to pass on if (the new owner) is able to continue with the way it presently is so there would be some (new) bookings straight away,’’ Mrs Wright said.
She said having the main house adjoining the apartments made the accommodation business easy to tend to.
“I’ve even met my guests in my pjs but they don’t care,’’ she said.
“Life’s too short, you’ve got to have fun. I want people (guests) to walk in, smile, have a laugh, feel comfortable and be relaxed.’’
The properties are on the market with Kathleen Fry of Ouwens Casserly Real Estate.
