Heavy rains and a cloud burst have caused widespread damage across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reports at least 60 fatalities and 16 injuries in the last 24 hours. Most affected districts include Bajaur, Battagram, Mansehra, Swat, Buner, Shangla, and Torghar. Cloudburst news from KP confirms that rescue teams are actively working in flood-hit areas.
Cloudburst Casualties and Damage
In Bajaur District, 16 persons were killed and 17 are still missing. In Battagram District there were 10 reported deaths and 18 unaccounted. In KP, 35 houses were damaged, 28 partially and 7 totally destroyed. Assistance works proceed in affected areas, where stranded people and tourists are evacuated in flood affected zones. Latest cloud burst news shows that the damage caused to roads and society is also serious.
Ongoing Flood Threat Due to Cloudburst
The Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasts intermittent rains and potential cloud bursts in KP and northern Pakistan until 21 August 2025. PDMA has issued alerts for glacial lake outburst floods in northern regions. Streets and highways as well as linking roads are still blocked in a number of localities.
PDMA has instructed district administrations to fast track the relief operations, clear roads, and give shelter and medical support. Residents are cautioned to avoid susceptible places as there remains triple threat of floods and landslides.

For real-time updates, follow official PDMA channels and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). Cloudburst news will continue to be updated as authorities monitor affected areas and coordinate rescue and relief operations.
