About
EthnoGuessr is a browser-based quiz game inspired by GeoGuessr, replacing geographic landscapes with composite images of male and female faces from various ethnic groups. The game uses anthropological data to challenge players to guess the group’s historical geographic origin by clicking a location on a world map, awarding points based on proximity. The correct ethnic name and background information are displayed after each guess. A new set of ten groups is made available daily, with players being marked on their total score, average score, and percentile ranking amongst the day’s total players. “EthnoGuessr” has attracted jokes online that describe the game as “advanced racism” due to its reliance on racial and ethnic profiling.
