Super Eagles and Real Sociedad of Spain striker Umar Sadiq has bought Nigerian football club Ranchers Bees, according to multiple sources.
Sadiq, who currently plays in Spain for Real Sociedad, bought the Kaduna-based club along with Nigerian politician Bello El-Rufai.
Nura Abdullahi, who used to play with Sadiq, has been named the new president of the club.
Ranchers Bees will aim to win promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) next season.
In the early 1990s, the club was well known in Nigerian football. They helped develop top players like Daniel Amokachi, Dominic Iorfa, and Davidson Owumi.
The club won the WAFU Cup in 1993 but later faded away from the spotlight.
