Fans have complained about the prices for food and drink at the Hill Dickinson Stadium

There is an innovative way to pay for a pint at Everton’s new Hill Dickinson stadium but fans have expressed anger with the prices at the venue.

On Saturday there was a capacity crowd at the ground for the first time as Everton were beaten 1-0 by Roma in a friendly.

A video posted on TikTok showed that in order to pay for a drink fans simply have to scan their card at the entrance and then collect their pint.

One fan shared the stadium’s price list – San Miguel, for instance, costs £7.05, with Apple cider available for £6.85.

White wine costs £8, while soft drinks such as Pepsi Max, Diet Pepsi and 7Up Zero are all £3.20 each.

The fan wrote on X: ‘have a f****** word will you, the most expensive pints/drinks in the prem for a club that goes on about having working class fans, just greed.’
