Matthew Macfadyen, who played Mr. Paradox in the 2024 Deadpool & Wolverine alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, is set to star as Voldemort in the upcoming Harry Potter project, as opposed to the star of the film, speculated to have been cast for the role. Macfadyen, who is also celebrated for his turn as Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice, co-starring Keira Knightley, will not appear on screen as the sinister Hogwarts villain, but rather will only lend his voice to the character, given that the series in discussion is a seven-part Audible venture.

Other cast members for the audio series include newcomers Frankie Treadway, Max Lester, and Arabella Stanton, who will voice the titular character, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger in the first three books. In the final four, the duty will be fulfilled by Jacob Knopf, Rhys Mulligan, and Nina Barker Francis, respectively. With over 200 actors involved, plus original music and real-world sounds, this Audible series promises a truly magical and immersive experience. Meanwhile, there is also a Harry Potter TV series in the works. Who is in this iteration of the much-beloved wizard world?

A captivating ensemble has been chosen to bring Harry Potter to the small screen.

HBO’s Harry Potter cast revealed

HBO has Dominic McLaughlin stepping in as Harry Potter, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton yet again as Hermione Granger. These young stars, alongside veterans like John Lithgow as Dumbledore and Nick Frost as Hagrid, assure a fresh yet faithful take on the carefully crafted world of J.K. Rowling. A little piece of trivia, meanwhile, is that the studio auditioned more than 32,000 children for the lead role of Harry Potter, famously played in the movies by Daniel Radcliffe, who once nearly also became Wolverine. Executive producer of the show Mark Mylod, per Variety, said that the casting team reviewed between 500 and 1,000 audition entries per day.
