Eddie Murphy Remembers Beyoncé Stopping Jennifer Hudson From Embarrassing Herself On The Set Of This 2006 Movie
According to Murphy, he shot “Dreamgirls” with Beyoncé and, of course, Hudson while he was going through his divorce from Nicole Murphy. (The pair married in 1993.)
As he continued speaking about the film, the “I Spy” actor recalled one of the many memories he had of the two singers.
Murphy shared that in between shooting scenes for the movie, Hudson allegedly noticed her fingers were dry and “ashy.”
He went on to say that to combat the problem, Hudson allegedly began “licking her fingers and getting the ash like that,” demonstrating how the incident unfolded.
Murphy said that after Beyoncé noticed what was occurring, she “immediately grabbed” Hudson’s hand and reportedly said, “‘Ooh girl, don’t do that. I’ll get you some cream.'”

Hudson Once Said Queen Bey Had Her Back On Set

Murphy’s story of how supportive Beyoncé was to Hudson on set seems to mirror a similar story the “Giving Myself” singer shared about the mother of three during her time on “Watch What Happens Live” in 2014.
While speaking with Andy Cohen about her film debut, Hudson told the “Real Housewives” executive producer that Beyoncé was an “amazing” support system when they were on the set together.
According to Hudson, she learned from Beyoncé and Foxx, considering they were working long before her start on “American Idol.”
“That was, like, advice enough,” Hudson said of the experience.

Hudson Recalls Manifesting Meeting Bey
During another interview, Hudson opened up about the disappointing time her family got to meet Destiny’s Child without her.
While she was on stage performing, DC was coming off and ran into the talk show host’s family backstage.
Although upset, Hudson remembered calming herself down by reassuring herself that she’d cross paths with the members of the iconic girl group again. And she was exactly right!
After the interviewer told Hudson that she manifested her working relationship with Beyoncé, Hudson said, “I guess I did.” In that interview, Hudson also acknowledged the effect that Beyoncé has on people when she walks into a room.
The “Respect” actress later highlighted the side of the popular singer that people rarely get to see.
“The person is so normal and she’s so normal,” Hudson said about Beyoncé, 43. “[She is] very timid, very sweet, [and very] quiet, and just [a normal] person.”
She went on, “She’s not the goddess that we know her to be. It’s just this beautiful, sweet girl.”
