Billy Edward Manes was born in Charleston, Arkansas, on August 5, 1947. He passed away at his residence north of Lavaca, Arkansas, on July 28, 2025, just shy of his 78th birthday. He was born to Ralph Manes and Billie MacKnight. He is survived by two daughters, Joy Dogan and Julie Blatz; by his only sibling, Patricia June Rose; a niece, Summer Rose; and two nephews, Aaron Tschaptat and Ryan Chacon. He also leaves his companion, Joyce Parker Bolton.

While Bill was born in Charleston, Arkansas, he grew up and lived in several different places across the United States. He proudly served in the United States Army, and also had worked in the transportation industry as a bus driver and drove multiple tourist trips through the years for various organizations. While Bill was a quiet person who enjoyed and cherished his privacy, he also enjoyed aiding and assisting anyone who might be in need. Those that got to know him certainly cherished his friendship and humor.

His funeral services are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel. He had made arrangements to be cremated and there will be a private placing of his cremains at a later date in time by family and friends.
