The Sindh government has issued a formal Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Urs 2025 holiday notification, declaring Saturday, August 9, 2025, as a public holiday across the province.
The official announcement shows that the Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai holiday 2025 implemented on all government offices, autonomous institutions, local councils, and educational institutions within the administrative jurisdiction of Sindh.

The annual Urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai marks its 282nd commemoration this year. The event will begin on August 9 and continue for three days at the Sufi poet’s shrine located in Bhit Shah, Matiari District.
Sindh’s Secretary of Culture, Muhammad Khan Kalhoro, confirmed that arrangements for the Urs are completed. Thousands of scholars, devotees, and visitors from across Pakistan expected to attend the spiritual and cultural gatherings.
The public holiday aims to facilitate smooth participation in the Urs, which includes recitation of Shah Latif’s poetry (Kalam-e-Latif), Sufi music, literary sessions, and special prayers.

The Minister for Culture has officially invited the Governor of Sindh to the inauguration ceremony. To ensure public safety, the Deputy Commissioner of Hyderabad has imposed a ban on the display of weapons during the event.
The Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Urs, is an annual event at Bhit Shah that considered one of the major cultural festivals of spirituality and peace in Sindh.
