Honor has updated its Device Clone app to support cross‑platform data transfer between smartphones running Android, iOS, and Huawei’s HarmonyOS Next. This upgrade allows users to move their data between devices without relying on cables, computers, or additional accessories, for both Android and iOS.
Cross‑Platform Data Transfer
The expansion enables smartphone users to clone data from old devices to new ones across three operating systems. Files, applications, and personal information can now be transferred wirelessly, simplifying phone upgrades.
With this update, Honor is now the first brand to support data migration from HarmonyOS Next, extending its interoperability within the broader smartphone ecosystem.
How to Use Device Clone
To activate the feature, users need to install the Device Clone app on both the old and new devices and follow these steps:
- On the new device, go to Settings > System & Updates > Device Clone.
- Tap “This is a new device” and select the type of the old device (Android, iOS, or HarmonyOS).
- On the old device, open Device Clone and tap “This is an old device.”
- Scan the QR code displayed on the new device to pair the phones.
- Select the data to transfer and tap Next to begin cloning.
The process allows for wireless, end‑to‑end data migration, helping users switch devices without technical complications.
