Legal comedies are the ideal genre for those who dabble in jurisprudence while enjoying a side of quick-witted one-liners and buddy-cop banter. In an ocean of comedies, some gems are lost, some are forgotten, and some are repurposed to dust. However, it so happens, a series that aired over a decade ago is resurrected and given a new home. Franklin & Bash, created by Kevin Falls and Bill Chais, stars Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar in the lead roles. As two street‑smart, unorthodox lawyers shake up a high‑end Los Angeles law firm, they are hired to bring some life to ailing legal processes, supported by a quirky senior partner.

As Franklin, a snarky, party‑boy attorney, and his more level-headed legal partner, Bash, wisecrack in front of judges and investigate with Carmen Phillips, an ex-convict, and Pindar Singh, an agoraphobic attorney, the cases themselves turn quirky. From civil disputes to over-the-top trials with extreme stakes, the show promises legal comedy gold. With its four hilarious seasons, their legal battles serve not a single stilted courtroom sequence.

Packing in a host of geniuses, Franklin & Bash has more than its plot to boast about, as comedy is all about timing.

When is Franklin &  Bash releasing on Netflix and what to expect?

Netflix has slated the US streaming release for September 1, 2025, with a multi-year licensing for the whole show. Though an official trailer for the show has not yet fallen into the hands of viewers, reports from the industry point out that Netflix’s 2025 pickups, such as Sneaky Pete, hint that the firm is building a library to replace the snug niche occupied by Suits‘ nine-season run. This offers comedy enthusiasts a chance to binge all the episodes of Franklin &  Bash, unlike before, when its digital streaming remained inconveniently sporadic.
