A new monsoon system has reached Pakistan and the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has given a heavy rain prediction over many regions between August 4 and 7, 2025. The newly released Pakistan weather forecast predicted that Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) are some of the affected regions.
The PMD weather alerts warn of potential urban flooding and landslides in vulnerable regions. Pakistan rain alert notifications have been issued for low-lying areas of Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and northern Punjab.
As per the Karachi weather forecast, light rain and drizzle were recorded in various parts of the city on Sunday night, contributing to changing weather conditions in Sindh. Karachi rain is likely to continue intermittently during the current spell of Monsoon 2025.
According to the PMD, it has been reported that Sialkot, Narowal, Rawalpindi, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Neelum valley, Skardu, Gilgit and Diamer are anticipated to receive heavy rains in Pakistan. On August 6, thunderstorms with heavy rain are expected to hit the territory of Balochistan due to the activity of a strong weather system, which contributes to the overall harshness of the Monsoon season 2025.
Over 20 districts in Punjab are expected to receive rain with thunder, according to the Punjab rain forecast issued by the PMD. However, high temperatures and humidity may persist in Pakistan’s plain regions, especially central and southern zones.
In Sindh’s coastal areas, including Karachi, the weather may remain partly cloudy with chances of light drizzle or scattered showers. The weather Karachi update suggests slightly improved conditions but with ongoing variability.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has advised the public to follow weather alerts and avoid unnecessary travel to mountainous and low-lying regions during this active monsoon season.
