Gordon Dale Jennings, 83, of Alma, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. Gordon was born December 20, 1941 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents Wallace Jennings and Patsy McAllister and Pierce and Rose Dean.
Gordon was the owner/operator of Jennings Furniture in Alma for over 52 years and also owned Furniture World. He was a member of Alma First Baptist Church and was active in the Hwy 71 Freewill Baptist Mission. He loved his children and grandchildren and never met a stranger. He loved the Lord, singing and playing his guitar, the Arkansas Razorbacks, playing softball and bowling.
Graveside service will be 10:00AM Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Deans Cemetery with burial to follow under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. The family will visit with friends from 5:00-7:00PM on Monday, August 4, 2025 at Ocker Chapel of Alma, 917 Hwy 64 E., Alma, AR 72921.
Gordon leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Joyce Jennings; daughter, Michelle Tyler and husband Jeff of Alma; sons, Lance Jennings of Alma and Dr. Shane Jennings of Fort Smith; granddaughters who knew him as Poppy, Bailey Burris and husband Evan, Aleia Jennings, Ashton Jennings, Kailyn Blair and husband Landon; great grandson on the way, Bennett Burris; sisters Patricia Taylor and husband Jackie and Derlene Boster and husband Charles.
Serving as pallbearers will be Evan Burris, Landon Blair, Ronnie Dean, Danny Wilkerson, Allen Hudson and Ralph Stockemer. Honorary pallbearers will be Bailey Burris, Aleia Jennings, Ashton Jennings, Kailyn Blair, Jeff Tyler, Ricky Walker, Tommy Leverett, Donald Dean, Jackie Taylor, Troy Watson and Johnny Thompson.
