There have been thousands of reports of people unable to access the Paypal app and website on Downdetector. The reports appear to be coming from users across the globe.

The issues appear to have started for both Paypal and Visa shortly before 2pm today.

Customers receive ‘error’ message after failed transactions

Frustrated customers say they have receieved error messages on their Paypal accounts.

One user complained: “I got an error message saying, ‘We’re having some trouble completing your request right now.’ It’s been saying that all day.”

Outage reaches US as users left baffled by Paypal

People in the US have reported experiencing issues with Paypal.

One person said: “Paypal not letting me transfer money or anything can y’all please fix the issue before 7.”

Another person wrote: “Sent someone $200 and it was taken from my account and the other person didn’t receive it. no transaction appearing on either end, not sure what happened to the money.”

A third person added: “I can login to PayPal but its not letting me make payments.”
