Lamine Yamal has started his journey as Barcelona’s new number 10 in brilliant fashion, scoring twice as the Spanish club beat FC Seoul 7-3 in a friendly match on 31 July 2025.
The 17-year-old winger, now wearing the famous shirt once worn by Lionel Messi, showed his class in Barcelona’s second preseason game. Yamal scored his first goal in the 14th minute, just after Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring.
FC Seoul fought back and managed to equalise 2-2 just before half-time. But Yamal scored again in injury time to give Barcelona the lead going into the break.
In the second half, Barcelona made several changes but kept up the pressure. Goals from Andreas Christensen, Ferran Torres (who scored twice), and Gavi helped seal a big win. Seoul added a late goal, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Spanish side.
This match also marked the debut of Barcelona’s new away kit, made in partnership with Kobe Bryant’s Mamba brand.
Yamal’s strong performance in the number 10 shirt has excited fans, as he continues to follow in Messi’s footsteps at the club.
