Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi has confirmed that Inter Milan have made a bid for Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman, but no agreement has been reached yet.
There have been strong rumours over the past two weeks linking the 27-year-old winger with Inter Milan. Their sporting director, Piero Ausilio, recently said that the club is in talks with Atalanta for Lookman’s transfer.
Lookman has also been linked with other top European clubs like Atletico Madrid, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Barcelona, but none of them have made an official offer so far.
Since the start of the year, there have been signs that Lookman would leave Atalanta this summer, especially after his fallout with former coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
Speaking recently, Atalanta CEO Percassi said:
“Lookman has wanted to leave for some time. We have a proposal from Inter, but it’s up to us to decide the timing and value of the deal. We have a good relationship with Inter and will consider the offer at our own pace.”
Reports suggest Inter Milan have offered €45 million, but Atalanta want at least €50 million, especially as Inter are direct rivals in Serie A.
Lookman has scored 52 goals and provided 25 assists in 118 games for Atalanta. He played a key role in helping the club win their first-ever European trophy with a brilliant display in the final.
The Super Eagles winger would be a great signing for any club that manages to get him.
