Samsung may be preparing a major shake-up for its flagship Galaxy S-series lineup in 2026, according to a new leak reportedly based on an internal One UI 8 build.

The upcoming Galaxy S26 series is rumored to feature these three models instead:

  • Galaxy S26 Pro
  • Galaxy S26 Edge
  • Galaxy S26 Ultra

This would replace the current naming scheme of Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, removing both the vanilla and Plus models. The Edge is expected to replace the Plus variant, while the Pro will replace the standard model. The Pro branding could suggest improved specifications, though hardware details remain unclear. A price increase for the base model also seems plausible, as “Pro” devices traditionally carry higher price tags.

Apple is expected to go for a similar approach with its upcoming iPhone 17 series, which is likely to launch in September. A new iPhone 17 Air will reportedly be introduced to the lineup, which is also expected to be a slim option similar to Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Edge.

With the Galaxy S26 family still half a year away, these rumors should be treated with caution. More concrete leaks are likely to surface in the coming months as the launch date draws near, revealing whether Samsung truly plans to drop its vanilla S-series model and pivot toward a three-model premium lineup.
